
Robin was born in 1915 in Summerland. He was employed on the Agur Ranch in PrairieValley. He worked with horses and assisted with loggers in the Summerland’s watershed. He acted as a guide to people into the Headwaters area. He also worked in the community fruit packing houses. For two years he homesteaded in Alberta Flight Officer Agur joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, 228 Squadron in 1940 as a wireless air gunner. He was killed on June 13th 1943. He is buried at the Runnymede Memorial, in Surrey United Kingdom (Grave Panel 172).(J/8631) Agur was on the same plane as Keith MacDougall and both were killed when their plane was shot down. They were shot down by a U-boat as confirmed in the U-boat captain’s journal of the battle.
