Keith MacDougall was the son of A.L. MacDougall who , for many years, was the president of the Penticton Co-Operative Growers. Keith was an outstanding athlete. He was the captain of the Summerland Merchants Basketball team. This team won the provincial senior B title in the 1940-1941 season. Also on this basketball team was Pilot Officer George Pringle (Peachland) who also lost his life in the war. Keith continued his education at the University of Alberta. He was on the successful varsity football team. Keith became the cold storage engineer for the Summerland Co-Operative before moving to the Penticton Co-Operative Growers. MacDougall was on the same plane as Robin Agur and both were killed when their plane was shot down. They were shot down by a U-boat as confirmed in the U-boat captain’s journal of the battle.
