Thomas Otterwell

Thomas Otterwell was born on November 23 1894 in Midhurat Sussex England. He was the son of Mrs Lydia Freeman of Penlane, Newcastle Emlyn, South Wales.He was a farmer in Summerland. Tom enlisted on Jan 15^th 1917 at the age of 22.  In the January 4 1917 issue of the Penticton Herald it mentioned that the 102^nd reinforcing draft included Penticton soldier G. Maundrell and Thomas Otterwell. He then joined the Canadian Infantry (Western Ontarion Regiment) 47th Battalion. He was killed on October 26 1917 at the age of 22. He was buriend at the Menin Gate (Ypres) Memorial (Grave panel 10-26-28) (R# 2137315)
