Crawford Thomas Rush
Crawford was born Dec 23 1886 in PeterboroughOntario. He was the son of Thomas and Isabel Rush of 359 Stewart StreetPeterborough. As an employee of the Bank of Montreal he enlisted on April 22nd 1915. He had previous military experience. He spent three years with the 57th Battalion and one year with the 24th Field Battalion. He joined the 11th Canadian Mounted Rifles. In June 1916 he was appointed lieutenant of the 11th Overseas Battalion. Later he became Lieutenant in the Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment) 102nd Battalion. He died on October 21 1916 while serving with the 102nd Battalion. He is buried at the Albert Communal Cemetery Extension in Somme France.(Grave 1.N.64)
