Charlie Reginald Verrier was born on January 3rd 1920. He was the son of Reginald Clifford Verrier (who was wounded in World War One) and Maude Verrier. In 1940 Charlie joined the 146 Squadron. He was trained as a fighter pilot in England. From 1940 on he flew primarily spitfire aircraft. He was transferred to the Pacific in 1944. While flying a Thunderbolt aircraft (FL 842), he was killed on October 24 1944. His plane was transporting napalm. His body and the wreckage of his plane were never found and has no known grave. His name is inscribed on the Singapore War Memorial.(Grave Column 444) (J/92099)
